Origin: a selection from seedlings of 2005. Basis: murieliae sprayed with nitida .

Columnformed erect, few shrink, only by prolonged frosts.

End 2009 height 2.2 m..

"Dark" impression by influence of nitida?

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Fargesia ‘Winter Joy’  [nitida x murieliae]

 

Origin: a selection from seedlings of 2005. Basis: nitida sprayed with murieliae.

Only by prolonged cold shrink. Works well in the Sun, probably due to a murieliae influence.

 Height at the end of 2009: ± 2 metres.

In winter fine dark stems

 

 

 

 

 

 

Fargesia nitida 'Pillar' [nitida 'Gansu ' x nitida]

 

Origin: a selection from seedlings of 2005. Basis: 'Gansu' sprayed with nitida.

At The Green Prince  the highest. Here over 2 metres.

In summer green stems, in winter darkbrown.

In winter moderest shrink. Sun and halfshade.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Fargesia nitida 'Volcano' [nitida 'Gansu' x nitida]

 

Origin: a selection from seedlings of 2005. Basis: 'Gansu "sprayed with nitida.

Growth: thick-set, fontainlike, leaves somewhat hanging. Height the 2009 ± 1,25 m..

In winter moderest shrink, in summer little. Tolerates sun.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Fargesia nitida 'Black Pearl'  [nitida 'Gansu x nitida ]

 

 

Origin: a selection from seedlings of 2005. Basis: 'Gansu sprayed with nitida .

In both winter and summer very dark puple-black stems.

Height at the end of 2009: 2 metres.

In both winter and summer somewhat sensitive to shrink.

Perhaps better in penumbra, but tolerates sun also.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Fargesia nitida 'Shadow Light' [nitida 'Gansu"]

 

Origin: a selection from seedlings of 2004. Basis: Fargesia nitida: 'Gansu "

A type suitable for [half] shadow, otherwise very sensitive to shrink.

Here end 2009 only 0.90 m high.
